painting on display in the school of art history

Welcome to the School of Art History

As part of an ancient university in a picturesque historic town by the sea the school attracts students from all over the world. We offer a choice of over fifty modules in subjects such as Gothic Architecture and the Art of the Renaissance Court to Art Nouveau and New York Modernism. With a number of distinguished scholars on our staff we are an important centre for research on the history of architecture, history of photography, the fine and decorative arts and museum studies.

School judged the 4th best Art History department and the 1st for Student Satisfaction in the UK
