Passport to Health and Wellbeing Excellence

Image of the passport.CAPOD and the University’s Health & Wellbeing Group have worked together to develop a holistic programme to support staff wellbeing. There are 4 core themes: Mental, Physical, Nutritional and Workplace wellbeing.

‌To complete the programme, participants need to attend one core, plus a minimum of two optional sessions for each theme within two years. Thereafter, there will be ongoing opportunities to continue participation and support others by becoming local ambassadors.

‌The Passport to Health & Wellbeing Excellence aims to:

  • provide a structure and pathway for participants to maximise both mental and physical health;
  • provide participants with a variety of options that they can select from depending on own interests;
  • disseminate key information to help participants keep healthy;
  • encourage participants to take a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle;
  • raise awareness of the importance of physical & mental wellbeing;
  • recognise the importance the University places on staff wellbeing;
  • provide tools to allow staff to monitor own health;
  • facilitate the creation of a network of health and wellbeing ambassadors raise the profile of St Andrews as a great place to work.

Core session: Mentally Healthy Workplace

Optional sessions:

  • Mindfulness;
  • Scottish Mental Health First Aid;
  • Sleep Hygiene;
  • Self Esteem & Confidence;
  • Gardening for Relaxation;
  • Achieving a work/life balance;
  • Alcohol, drugs and smoking awareness;
  • Meditation practice.

Core session: Enjoying an active lifestyle

Optional sessions:

  • Yoga;
  • Beach Yoga;
  • Tai Chi;
  • Pilates;
  • Mobility and Stretching for sedentary workers;
  • Functional training in the Workplace;
  • Box Fit;
  • Aerobics;
  • Gym induction/walkthrough;
  • Feldenkrais;
  • Essential Cycling.

 

 

Core session: Eating Well

  • Healthy Eating;
  • Food Allergies & Intolerances;
  • Healthy Lunches;
  • Nutrition for Sport.

Core session: Your University, your Wellbeing

  • Dealing with Difficult Behaviour 1 & 2;
