‌The Pro Dean Taught Postgraduate is responsible for taught postgraduate learning and teaching matters.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing taught postgraduate curriculum design and approval across the Faculties on behalf of the Deans.
  • Advice and policy/regulatory development on all taught postgraduate matters including academic progression and termination of studies.
  • Convenor of University-Led Reviews of Learning and Teaching for taught postgraduate collaborative programmes.
  • Academic lead for taught postgraduate student induction.
  • Academic lead for the taught postgraduate student experience.
  • Resolution of serious student matters related to changes of circumstances: change of registration, deferrals beyond the reporting deadline and termination of studies.

Dr Martin Campbell

The current Pro Dean Taught Postgraduate is Dr Martin Campbell. 

Martin Campbell is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology & Neuroscience. He is the Director of the Postgraduate Distance Learning programme. As well as his undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the University, he provides staff training for care professionals who work with people with intellectual disabilities.

His main research interests are adult protection, people with challenging behaviour and people with intellectual disabilities and he has published extensively in these areas. He is a consultant of a number of Scottish Government policy and practice groups, looking at improving quality of care in health and social services.
