The University of St Andrews is home to two theatres: the Barron Theatre, run by volunteers through the Students’ Association, and the Byre Theatre.
The Byre Theatre
With a year-round programme of drama, music, opera, dance and community, literary and academic events, The Byre Theatre is a vibrant cultural hub for St Andrews and serves as a focal point for the arts in North East Fife.
The multi-award winning building is also home to a popular café and bar, serving quality meals and drinks at reasonable prices. The Byre is the perfect venue for a breakfast meeting or after-work drinks.

The Barron Theatre
A space run entirely by student volunteers, the Barron Theatre is a 54-seat black box studio theatre with projection facilities and a deep, floor level stage. Each year, a number of performances – ranging from full scale plays to poetry readings – open at the Barron.
