The first thing you should do once you have collected your keys is complete your inventory. This will either be located in your room, or will be issued to you on arrival. If an inventory is not provided, it is your responsibility to request one. Please check the inventory, fill it in carefully, and return it to your residence management team within 48 hours of your arrival. It is very important you carefully record anything which is missing or damaged, as the inventories are kept as an official record of the condition of the room when you move in. They are then compared with the condition of the room or property when you leave, and you will be charged for any missing items or damages. If you do not return an inventory, we will assume that everything in the room was satisfactory when you arrived.
Assistant warden role
The University of St Andrews is proud to provide a highly regarded, world class wardennial service as a core offering to students living within University residences. The service is an essential element of the student experience at St Andrews and the wardennial team plays a major role in defining student life in each residence. The role of assistant warden is challenging but rewarding. As an assistant warden you will live as part of the residence community and help develop a strong and positive residence identity, while advising and guiding students as they settle into University life. The role of assistant warden is open to staff (minimum 0.5 FTE) and postgraduate research students (excluding MLitt and MRes students).
