Advice for prospective students, current students and offer holders from the European Union

In light of the result of the United Kingdom Referendum on membership of the European Union, the University of St Andrews wishes to reassure prospective students from the EU, current students and offer holders that it does not anticipate any significant change to funding arrangements or immigration statuses in the short to medium term.

It is important to stress that fees and support arrangements for our current students, offer holders from the EU and prospective EU students considering entry to St Andrews in 2017 will NOT be affected. Where the University makes an arrangement with you, it will honour it for the duration of your course.

We will therefore guarantee to retain our current fees and support arrangements for all EU prospective students considering entry in 2017. Students considering 2017 entry should apply to us in the normal way.

St Andrews is outward looking, international and European, and we will go on being so.

We expect that the Government’s negotiations with Europe over exit will take a substantial length of time and we do not anticipate any significant change to funding arrangements in that period.

We will continue to monitor closely policy discussions at UK and Scottish Government and will keep all our applicants and prospective students fully informed of key issues which may affect you in future.
